Thalia: La Cantante Demuestra su Calidad Interpretativa en Nuevo Disco

MIAMI, Estados Unidos, nov. 18, 2009.- Thalía aseguró hoy que su primer trabajo en directo, Primera fila, le ha servido para borrar las dudas tan preconcebidas con su nombre sobre su calidad interpretativa.

“El tener el peso de esos conceptos encima de mí ha sido fuerte, pero me encanta porque con el contenido de este material es contestar un poco exactamente a eso, a esas dudas y a esas imágenes tan preconcebidas”, dijo la artista en entrevista.

Con el disco y DVD que saldrán a la venta el próximo 1 de diciembre, la también empresaria y actriz confesó que se ha quitado una imagen irreal de ella que se ha presentado a los medios en los últimos años y que fue provocada por ella misma.

“Con este trabajo me quite un peso de encima, un peso maravilloso que me ha puesto donde estoy hoy, porque no me puedo quejar, ni quiero quejarme estoy orgullosa de cada paso que he dado y de cada imagen que he construido y he ayudado a construir, pero hoy día estoy más orgullosa que nunca de este proyecto”, aseguró.

Por eso en el DVD grabado en el Bank Unitred Center de Miami, Thalía está despojada del glamour de los tacones altos de los peinados exóticos y del maquillaje excesivo de sus anteriores producciones y se presenta simplemente con unos jeans y sus tenis preferidos.

Thalía dijo que la nueva etapa que vive en su vida también ha influido para su nueva producción, pues afirmó que es un momento de “realización, reestructuración en toda mi vida emocional, física, mental, espiritual y musical”.

Indicó que dos eventos han marcado su vida en los últimos dos años para todo ese cambio: el nacimiento de su hija Sabrina Sakae y su recuperación de la enfermedad de Lyme.

“Cuando te encuentras ese tipo de situaciones, te replanteas todo, te preguntas bueno hacia dónde quieres ir a dónde quieres encaminar tu vida, qué te hace feliz, qué te hace triste, qué te alegra y qué te da ansiedad”, dijo en la entrevista telefónica mientras visita Florida, huyendo del frío de Nueva York, en donde vive.

En una muestra del DVD enviada a la prensa, Thalía, acompañada de 12 músicos y ante una sala llena de fanáticos y su madre Yolanda, se le observa sin sus vistosos atuendos y el maquillaje excesivo para interpretar con muy buena voz 13 temas de compositores como Roberto Carlos, Juan Luis Guerra, Reyli Barba y Ricardo Arjona, entre otros.

El cantautor Joan Sebastian realiza un dueto de un tema compuesto especialmente para Thalía, titulado “La duda”, mientras que el cantante puertorriqueño Pedro Capó, nieto del conocido cantautor Bobby Capó, interpreta otro dúo titulado “Estoy enamorado”.

Este trabajo incluye además dos temas de su inspiración, “Cómo” y “Ya lo sabía”, escritas junto al ex vocalista de Sin Bandera, Leonel García, así como un popurrí de sus más sonados éxitos.

La esposa de Tommy Mottola, muestra imágenes con su pequeña hija Sabrina así como fotos y películas de su infancia y adolescencia junto a su familia. También hace un recuento de lo que han sido sus casi tres décadas de carrera artística.

Shakira: Give It Up To Me feat. Lil Wayne - Video

Oh dear, dear. Have you seen Shakira’s new video, Give It Up To Me feat. Lil Wayne? Surprisingly enough, I am not confused by this video. I get it completely. Shakira is channeling her inner Britney, Beyonce, Lady Liberty, and some kind of Hindu goddess. Oh, and she doesn’t forget the token rapper either. Yikes. However, the fact that I get it doesn’t mean I have to like it. I don’t want the She Wolf she’s trying to sell these days. I am not sold on the ethnically-diverse dancing she’s going for. All I want is the old Shakira. The Shakira whose hair was long and black. The Shakira who wrote beautiful lyrics and put them to music. The Shakira who sang in Spanish. The Shakira in this video is the complete opposite of the Latin artist I once loved. I’m just saying.

A Review of the Song, “Ambulance,” by Eisley: Soundtrack of Emotional Upheaval, Ready for Primetime

To your dismay, the couple you follow on your favorite TV drama has a nasty blowup over infidelity. In a dress by Vera Wang, the distraught woman sobs alone in her dark apartment with her back against the bedroom door. Her scorned lover races off in his 2010 Camaro. He shakes his head in disbelief about the betrayal and then suddenly punches the dash.

In my view, the song, “Ambulance,” by Eisley on the new EP, “Fire Kite,” was born for moments like this. The track explores the kind of emotional hurt that only a romantic relationship can inflict – when your broken heart aches so badly you may need to call an ambulance.

Here’s an excerpt of the lyrics, sung by the band’s keyboard player, Stacy Dupree:

Intentionally or not, Eisley, a group from Tyler, Texas, made up of four sibling twenty-somethings and a cousin, has written a song that could fit nicely in the “Grey’s Anatomy” genre of music, an unlikely category that has emerged since the TV show debuted in 2005. Grey’s Anatomy has featured a who’s who of cool young artists, including KT Tunstall, Ingrid Michaelson, Anna Nalick, Brandi Carlile, Peter Bjorn and John, The Bird and the Bee and Feist.

In recent years, Eisley has toured with several well-known bands, including (you may have seen this coming) “Grey’s Anatomy” soundtrack alumni Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Fray and Gomez.

To get a feel for the song, “Ambulance,” think of the emotional intensity of tunes like Sarah McLachlan’s “I Will Remember You,” along with the sweetness of Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories’ song, “Stay.”

So grab a box of napkins, a quart of ice cream and experience the song, “Ambulance,” by Eisley on the EP “Fire Kite” (Sire Records Company, released Oct. 9, 2009).

Rainbows, Skittles, Gumballs, Brights, ROYGBIV?

Are these starting to look familiar to you? Everywhere you look?

You can bet that when you see this very same rainbow of shades, on multiple sites- that these are, quite simply… most likely straight repackaged pigment. If they’re not straight, then something has been added to extend them, while still preserving their same exact hue.

Why are companies so daft as to think that consumers aren’t savvy enough to realize that you’ll figure out that you’re getting duped? Because, honestly- they think you’re stupid. And *I* know you’re not!

They don’t understand the power of the internet, or a tweet or facebook post. Or a makeup forum. They think that they can make a quick buck passing off these “rainbow stacks” as their own amazing creation when really… all they did was stick it in a jar.

And that’s *fine*… as long as you know that you’re paying for a repackaged pigment and as long as ou aren’t being snowed into thinking that you’re getting some amazing, new product. Then, it’s totally not acceptable.

Isn’t it a little too much of a coincedence that ALL of these colors look exactly the same? And the same rainbow of shades, within context?

These certainly are gorgeous bright colors… but they’ve become so commonplace (Etsy alone gave me about 100 different hits!) that it’s truly a shame.

Why don’t companies blend them together, make beautiful new shades, add texture, interference, matte, sparkle, glimmer, glam? Why can’t they put a little bit of effort into it?

Ask any mineral makeup company owner that DOES make their own creative product and they’ll tell you the straight truth. This kind of evidence just plain tees them off.
